If you havent already figured out the lack of postings for over a week, Tech and I went and did the deed down in the sunny (but unfortunately windy) eastern caribbean.
First off thanks to P and the Mo-ster for the awesome job sitting on the dogs (no, they didnt actually sit. Well, hopefully the dogs did for them). I will share with you soon the mind of P--never let him near a computer to do a doggie update--strange things abound.
Anywho, the wedding was WONDERFUL! Note to all readers--elope on a cruise ship. Elope, elope, elope. Man, the best thing ever. All was taken care of and never had to worry about one detail. Worth it, man. To all loyal readers to whom I have e-mail addresses-- I will be emailing you pix links as soon as we get them going.
As for the rest of the cruise, it was good. The wind made for unsettled boating which was a source of frassiness the days we wanted to go out by the pool. As for the stops: San Juan--did not like it there. Felt like I was walking through a third world drug country (wait, I was!). Antigua--LOVED THE BEACH! Would go there again just for that. And the natives were so nice and shopping was good too. St Thomas--again great folks and overall nice. Think I would pick here to go for a week of beach lounging. Great Stirrup Cay--this was das boot's private island. More beaches--god bless sand. Needless to say, I loved the beaches this week. I was one with the lounge chair and SPF 50.
Other highlights: Won some money at the blackjack table and won some bills at BINGO!! (I know, cheesy but bad day at sea and I needed something to do whist Tech was in the Texas Hold 'em tourney--I am not one of the poker bunnies that stand there. Not my thing--though ask me some day about the casino bunny Tech and I observed. Classic.) Went to one of the evening shows that was a take on Cirque de soliel--not bad for cruise ship entertainment. The female dancers though werent the greatest though--out of step with each other and they couldnt do an irish jig to save their arses. Lots of bonding done at the martini bar--they make a mean chocolate martini.
We also did a spa morning (well, hit the spa several times but all others were wedding related--hair, nails and make-up needed to be done). We did a seaweed wrap followed by a massage. It didnt suck.
All in all a very good experience (save the bad karma coming home on the flight--Tech and I got greedy and opted to take a later flight for free round trip tickets only to have the later flight canceled. Sucked dude. Day later finally home. Props to Red for checking in on the pups and I highly recommend getting the trip insurance. Saved our bacons.) Dont know if I would cruise again just for the heck of it--I am more of a land lover, but glad we went. Now, back to reality.
